Lots of us want to help, and lots of us want more friends. Both are hard to start alone — so JoinGood puts them together. You find something good happening near you, see who's going, and turn up. The people you meet are the reason you come back.

Every neighbourhood has something good to join tonight — and no one has to do good, or have fun, alone.

What we believe

• Free to help, always.

  Volunteering never sits behind a paywall. If something here ever costs you money to do good, we got it wrong.

• Show up, don't scroll.

  We measure whether people meet in real life and come back — not how long they spend in the app.

• Honest by default.

  A credential is labelled self-declared unless we've seen proof. We don't invent numbers, and we tell you when something is unproven.

• Safe before big.

  Reporting, blocking and moderation come before growth. Meeting strangers is the whole point, so protecting people is too.

• Local before global.

  One city done well beats ten done thinly. We start in Birmingham.

• Fun counts — good comes first.

  A football session or a book club is a friendly way in, and it keeps your streak going. Good deeds stay the heart of it.

What we won't do

• Charge people to volunteer.
• Handle donations or take a cut of them.
• Run a marketplace where work is traded for money.
• Use guilt-driven streaks or dark patterns to keep you here.
• Sell your details.

Where we are

JoinGood is new. We're just getting started with a small group of people in Birmingham, and we're still learning what works. If something is broken, unclear or unsafe, we want to hear about it.
